Musselburgh School, Block 1 Innovative Learning Environment Project, Dunedin 2019

Musselburgh School required a major modernisation of its learning spaces in the main teaching block. The entire front face of the block was removed and an outdoor learning space was created that had great connection via an all new functional egress arrangement.

Te Kaika Medical and Dental Hub, Caversham, Dunedin 2018

The client approached Signature Property, via Ngai Tahu Property, to assist with the feasibility, planning, designing and construction of a new unique Health Hub in Caversham Dunedin. The Hub to provide medical, dental, physio and social health services to the local community. The original building being a 100 year old former school block, which was successfully converted into large and all encompassing clinic and office space.

Grants Braes School, Senior School and New Classroom Redevelopment Projects, Dunedin 2018

The lead teachers in the senior school wished to transform the three traditional classrooms into modern multi-function learning environment, consisting of glass pods and numerous orientations. Signature Property worked closely with a driven Board to this great outcome. The spaces being bright and light, multi-functional and modern - used as a regional example of what can be done to bring older 1960's relocatable teaching blocks into the 21st century.

Dunedin International Airport, Rental Car Building, Dunedin 2016

The client wished to create two new car rental company storage yards and workshops on a green fields site at Dunedin International Airport Ltd. A new 5000m2 hard surfaced pavement area was part of the project. The project included communication with the two national car rental companies on their wishes, managing all civil, electrical, consultants and contractors. Working closely with Airport Management was a pleasure and the end result achieved the requirements of all parties.

Clutha Vets Clinic Redevelopment, Balclutha 2016-17

The client wished to undertake a complete multi-million-dollar redevelopment and substantial extension of their very busy veterinarian clinic in Balclutha. The key challenge around this was that the clinic needed to remain open and practicing throughout the entire redevelopment. With an amazing client and a great team formed and fronted by Signature Property the project was successfully completed and fully opened in 2017.

Wakari School, Special Needs Space Project, Dunedin 2015

Wakari School required a quality space for Special Needs Education. The conversion of the former dental clinic was the prefect space. Signature Property managed all the activities from design supervision to completion for this project, including working the Ministry of Education to ensure the space meet the needs of the end users.

Wakari School wished to transform five classrooms into modern multi-function learning environments. Signature Property worked closely with a driven Board to this great outcome. The spaces being bright and light, multi-functional and modern spaces. All new wet areas, storage and whiteboard units with new lighting and heating.

Abbotsford School, Middle School Redevelopment Project, Dunedin 2013

Abbotsford School wished to transform their four relocatable classrooms into modern multi-function learning environments. Signature Property proposed design options from previous projects which meet the Boards brief. A central, duel access, computer and wet area was formed between each block along with a full heating, ICT, acoustics upgrade, plus large covered decks. A Dunedin show piece on what to do with transportable classrooms. Signature Property managed all the activities from conception to completion for this project

Bradford School, Block 1 Redevelopment Project, Dunedin, 2013

On a tight budget, Bradford School wished to create a quality indoor - outdoor learning space from the four classrooms in the main block. Large bi-fold and fire exit doors were fitted leading to substantial hardwood decks. A full fire alarm upgrade and earthquake assessment were also completed. Signature Property managed the planning, design, additional sub-consultants, tender and construction project management of the project.

Waimataitai School, Block 5 Redevelopment Project, Timaru 2013

Signature Property managed the duplicate reconfiguration of this block in line with the previous block 2 project from the previous year. Project included two interlinking aluminium glass doors between the classrooms and shared learning studio/breakout area, complete fibre ICT solution, fire alarm and internal redecoration upgrade.

Brockville School, Internal Hall Redevelopment Project, Dunedin 2013

The School Board wished to modernise their 50 year old hall and make it a brighter, lighter and warmer usable space. Perforated acoustic ceiling iron was utilised to give the space a contemporary look. Signature Property managed the planning, design, tender and construction project management.

Rosebank School, Covered Canopy Project, Balclutha, 2013

The School Board wished to complete the 2012 block redevelopment that a budget shortfall had prevented. Signature Property managed the design, consent, tender and assisted the school with project management of this translucent covered canopy.

Signature Property managed the planning, design, additional sub-consultants, tender and construction project management of an extension to block 1 consisting of two breakout spaces adjacent to room 2 and 3, a new reading room and teachers office. Incorporated in the project was an internal upgrade to the hall and fitting of a retractable Transpace door allowing for a duel use space.

Signature Property proposed to the building owner to redevelop their 250m2 vacant office space into smaller serviced offices. Signature Property managed the feasibility, planning, concept and detailed design, additional sub-consultants, tender and construction project management of the redevelopment. The end result for the owners was a well leased area creating a healthy return.

Managed the planning, design, tender and construction project management of the internal upgrade of all classrooms within the school. Project was under budget and on time.

Broad Bay School, Redevelopment Project, Dunedin 2011.

Managed the planning, design, tender and construction project management of the main block classrooms and amenity area redevelopment.

Twizel Area School, Improvement Projects, Twizel 2010/11.

Managed the planning, design, specification, tender and construction project management of exterior improvements, including a new adventure playground, guttering, weather tightness, exterior painting and asphalting.

Brockville School Upgrade Projects, Dunedin 2010.

As part of the 5YA Signature Property managed the planning, design and construction project management of senior school upgrade and site improvements.

10 Year Property Plan for Brockville, Broad Bay and Twizel Area Schools, Dunedin 2010.

10 Pitt St Exclusive Student Accommodation, Dunedin 2010.

Signature Property managed the tender and construction project management of this exclusive studio accommodation development on a steep and challenging site. The project was kept to budget and timeframe.

23 & 25 London St, Complex Refurbishment Project, Dunedin 2010.

Signature Property planned, managed and over sore construction during this extensive internal and external upgrade to the 12 flats in this complex. The project was kept to budget and timeframe.

Roles included; concept design, resource consent management, contractor tender/negotiations, construction panning and site supervision, DCC compliance. Halfway Bush School Entryway Modernisation, Dunedin 2009.

As part of the 5YA Signature Property managed the planning, design and construction project management of a new covered entryway and the upgrade of toilet facilities.


Animal Health Board Office Fitout, Dunedin 2009.

The Animal Health Board, a Government Department, required Dunedin based property consultancy services to evaluate suitable office space option in Dunedin. The selected office space required extensive modifications and fitout to meet their requirements. Signature Property managed the on site property and project management activities.

Broad Bay School 5YA Projects, Dunedin 2009.

Managed the planning, design and construction project management of a four 5YA projects at the school.

Elmgrove School Special Needs Modification, Mosgiel 2009.

As part of a special needs funding grant the school required urgent and swift action to manage the modifications of the sick bay area and the installation of a wheel chair access ramp. The project was completed on time and under budget over a tight timeframe.

Quest Apartments, Dunedin 2007.

Procurement and installation of FF&E chattels and fitout of 42 unit serviced apartment complex.

Gourmet Icecream site, Dunedin 2007.

Ferrum Engineering site in Birch St Dunedin had the opportunity to create a new commercial tenancy on a vacant part of the site. A feasibility review saw value and the development management of the additional tenancy was completed.

St David Heights , Dunedin 2006.

A feasibility review was conducted on the development of two seven bedroom executive studio apartment blocks on campus, plus the conversion of four students flats in the existing block. The development proceeded. This was an ambitious and successful development.

Station Mews Apartments, Anzac Ave, Dunedin 2004.

Stage 2 of the Anzac Ave student accommodation development was a conversion of an industrial building. A feasibility review showed great potential and the eventual development of 31 studio apartments from an underutilised industrial building in Anzac Square was successfully completed in 2004.
